VIOP ACADEMY TRAINING was held today

Theoretical information and applied examples on the Derivatives Market (VIOP) were offered to the participants at VIOP ACADEMY training

The two-day VIOP ACADEMY training program, organized by the Center for Financial Applications and Research (CARF), established jointly by Borsa İstanbul and Boğaziçi University, was held at Boğaziçi University laboratories on September 13-14, 2014.

During the ACADEMY, targeting those seeking a career in the financial sector and financial market employees, trainings were provided by Boğaziçi University member of staff and former Chairman of the Capital Markets Board of Turkey Prof. Dr. Vedat Akgiray, Boğaziçi University member of staff Dr. Cenk Karahan, Özyeğin University member of staff Dr. Emrah Şener, HSBC Portfolio Management Director Osman Yılmaz and Deutsche Securities Derivatives Director Ümit Yılmazcan.

Borsa İstanbul Executive Vice President Çetin Ali Dönmez said; “Borsa İstanbul VIOP continues to work on further educating both investors and employees in the sector in general. Through VIOP Academy training program organized within this framework, we offer a detailed and applied training program for the participants. We would like to thank Boğaziçi University for their support. We will continue such efforts in the forthcoming period.

Pointing to the fact that the derivatives market is a relatively new one in Turkey, Borsa İstanbul VIOP Group Manager Muammer Çakır said, “For this reason, we attach great importance to improving financial literacy. Thanks to the cooperation agreement we signed with the Options Industry Council (OIC) on option training, we have taken our efforts in this respect one step further by realizing a detailed program such as VIOP Academy”.

CARF Director Dr. Ali Çoşkun said, “Within the scope of VIOP Academy program, experienced speakers from both the academy and the sector shared their experience with the audience. Participants received theoretical and applied detailed information. We are very pleased to cooperate with Borsa İstanbul VIOP for an educational organization like this. We will continue to realize similar events together and contribute to the financial sector”.

During the intensive two-day program, detailed information about “Futures and Options Market and Products”, “Pricing in the Futures Markets”, “Option Pricing Models”, “Option Evaluation and Strategies”, “Volatility”, “VIOP and Portfolio Management” and “Derivatives Applications through a Professional Perspective” was offered to the participants. Upon completing the program, the participants were presented Boğaziçi University Center for Financial Applications and Research’s VIOP Academy certificate.
