Borsa İstanbul Visited ATİAD in Dusseldorf Germany to Promote the Listingİstanbul Program

Borsa İstanbul visited Dusseldorf, the capital city of Germany’s North Rhine-Westphalia State, as part of its Listingİstanbul promotion events series. As part of the program agenda, Borsa İstanbul Marketing and Sales Department officials paid visits to Turkish-German owned companies and to the Association of Turkish Businessmen and Industrialists in Europe (ATİAD).

As part of the promotion event, Borsa İstanbul delegation carried out one-on-one meetings to leading Turkish-owned companies in Dusseldorf area, and convened with the Board of Directors of ATİAD, which is the ceiling non-governmental business organization in Germany, whose primary objectives are to foster economic cooperation between Germany and Turkey, voice Turkish-German business peoples’ opinion in the public and assist Turkish and German companies that are seeking business opportunities in Germany and Turkey.

At the meeting, ATİAD Board was provided with detailed information in regards to single and/or dual listings, advantages of listing in Borsa İstanbul and the key areas they need to focus on, should they consider a listing in İstanbul. Accordingly, Borsa İstanbul officials and ATİAD Board members discussed potential cooperation areas to develop Turkish capital market activities in Germany, and exchanged their views in cultivating the reciprocal transformation of business know-how and financial best practices.

The meeting concluded with high remarks, and a future co-hosted event has already been scheduled for 2015 in order to make progress on the discussed topics. “
Germany has a very special place for our international endeavors, due to our strong socio-economic ties, and also because it hosts a population of more than 3 million people with Turkish origin. Turkish entrepreneurs in Germany generate EUR 40 billion in revenue and EUR 8 billion in investments, and we would like to position Borsa İstanbul as a strong alternative to German-Turkish companies seeking capital for their investments and operations” was the comment of Mr. Serhat Görgün, who is the Director of Marketing and Sales in Borsa İstanbul.
