Borsa İstanbul Sustainability Platform VIII. Round Table Meeting was held

Borsa İstanul hosted the eighth Sustainability Platform rountable meeting on April 12, 2016 Borsa İstanbul. The agenda for the meeting included the introduction of new member representatives,  the activities carried out by the members in the previous period, evaluation of latest national and international developments in the field of sustainability, work carried out on integrated reporting as well as the objectives and upcoming activities for the year 2016.

Chaired by Mustafa K. Yılmaz, Borsa İstanbul Chief Business Development Officer, the meeting was attended by representatives from Borsa İstanbul, Capital Markets Board (CMB), Corporate Governance Association of Turkey (TKYD), Business World and Sustainable Development Association (SKD), Global Compact Turkey, Carbon Disclosure Project (CDP) Turkey, Turkish Investor Relations Society (TÜYİD), the Banks Association of Turkey (TBB), Sustainability Academy, Arguden Governance Academy and Yıldız Technical University Center for Finance, Governance and Sustainability (CFGS).

At the meeting, the participants discussed the implications of Sustainable Development Goals adopted in September 2015 and the COP 21 Climate Summit. Participants decided on some action plans in order to increase the effectiveness of the work carried out for the purpose of making sustainable business models widespread in the companies, especially in SMEs. Furthermore, the roadmap for integrated reporting activities was discussed and information about the latest developments in carbon markets was shared.
