Aiming to grow and increase product diversity in the field of sustainability and participation finance, Borsa İstanbul launches a new product. As of November 12, 2021, Borsa İstanbul starts to calculate five participation indices.

Borsa İstanbul starts to calculate five participation indices as of November 12, 2021. The indices to be calculated involve BIST Participation 30, BIST Participation 50, BIST Participation 100, BIST Participation All and BIST Sustainability Participation Indices.

The efforts to determine the companies that will be included in the participation index were maintained in cooperation with the Advisory Board of the Participation Banks Association of Turkey. The "Share Certificate Issuance and Trade Standard" created by the Advisory Board formed the basis of the studies and the compliance of the companies with this Standard was evaluated. Companies that listed on the Exchange and meet the Standard within the scope of participation finance were included in the BIST Participation All Index. Among the companies in the BIST Participation All Index, those who have the highest trading volume and the market cap of shares in the actual free float will be calculated in the BIST Participation 100, BIST Participation 50, BIST Participation 30 indices.

The BIST Sustainability Participation Index will be calculated for investors who want to invest both on the themes of participation and sustainability. The scope of the Index comprises the shares of companies that meet the selection criteria of the BIST Participation All and the BIST Sustainability Indices. Companies that meet these criteria are also included in the BIST Sustainability Participation Index.

With the indexes to be calculated, Borsa İstanbul aims to provide individual investors, who make their investment decisions based on participation principles, to choose among the companies operating in line with the participation principles, to raise awareness of companies and investors regarding the participation principles and to make companies benefit more from funding opportunities of the participation finance sector.
