A Workshop on Participation Banks and New Financial Products for Capital Markets was held

“Participation Banks and New Financial Products for Capital Markets” themed workshop organized jointly by Capital Markets Board of Turkey and Borsa Istanbul Research Department was held at FEAS Hall in Borsa Istanbul. Alongside with Borsa Istanbul officials, managers from Undersecretariat of Treasury, Central Bank of Turkey, Banking Regulation and Supervision Agency, Capital Markets Board of Turkey, all four participation banks and Ziraat Bank attended the workshop  where Borsa Istanbul Executive Vice Chairman, Mustafa Kemal Yılmaz and Vice Chairman of Capital Markets Board of Turkey, Tevfik Kınık informed participants with their presentations.

Interest free transactions and products in capital markets


Mustafa Kemal Yılmaz, Executive Vice President of Borsa İstanbul, provided information about appropriate indices for Islamic Finance, Exchange Traded Funds (ETFs) in Borsa Istanbul and transactions in Precious Metals and Diamonds Market while he evaluated Sukuk issuances in Turkey since 2010 and their secondary market transactions in Borsa İstanbul Outright Purchases and Sales Market. In addition to these, Mr. Yılmaz gave recommendations about regulations, new markets to be established  how to increase trade volume and product diversity in Sukuk Market, Islamic real estate investment trusts, Commodity Market and Precious Metals and Diamonds Market.

New Collective Investment Products in Capital Markets

Vice Chairman of Capital Markets Board of Turkey, Tevfik Kınık, provided information about the formation, sale processes, portfolio management and tax regulations of Private Equity Trust Funds, Real Estate Trust Funds, Infrastructure Real Estate Mutual Funds and Participation Funds.

During the workshop shaped by participants’ inquiries, participants shared the problems they face currently while distinguished directors answered the questions regarding the sector.
