In his address at the opening bell ceremony, Borsa İstanbul CEO Korkmaz Ergun contended as follows:

"Distinguished guests,

Today, I welcome you all to the IPO ceremony we organized for the listing of Girişim Elektrik.

I would like to take this opportunity to offer my condolences to our people affected by the floods in several regions of our country. May God’s mercy be upon those who lost their lives, I offer my condolences to their relatives.

The engineering experience of Girişim Elektrik regarding renewable energy plants holds a key role in an atmosphere where the importance of environmental issues increased on a great scale.

Moreover, It contributes to our exports by launching products related to electricity generation, transmission, distribution and control.

Having said that, let me also indicate that we offer many financial products for companies.

Among these, the most important ones are our financial products through which they can hedge the foreign exchange risk.

Currently, companies can use cash-settled foreign exchange futures contracts and options on our Exchange.

Furthermore, I would like to announce that we are working on a new financial product, a new hedge mechanism, so that companies can manage their foreign exchange risk. We are at the final stage of our work. We will reveal the details of this new financial product when we finalize the process soon.

Thanks to this new financial product, the details of which will be announced soon, companies, specifically the ones in the real sector and foreign trade, will be able to manage the foreign exchange risk in their balance sheets due to their activities in a more competitive, secure and transparent way.

I would like to take this opportunity to remind you again that our derivative products offer significant opportunities for companies in financial risk management.
