Webrazzi Summit, organized by Webrazzi, Turkey’s most popular Internet and entrepreneurship destination, started with an opening-bell ceremony at Borsa İstanbul. Borsa İstanbul Private Market is among the platinum sponsors of the event.
Webrazzi Summit, supported by Borsa İstanbul Private Market, started with an opening-bell ceremony held at Borsa İstanbul today. The event is realized at Wyndham Grand İstanbul Levent on October 21-22, and covers numerous subjects including Digital Marketing, Social Media, E-Trade, Venture Capital, Angel Investors, Online Games, and Mobile Applications.
Private Market is a web-based and membership based platform which aims to bring companies and investors together through selling shares, without going public in order to raise capital and create liquidity. At the ceremony, following the opening speech by Webrazzi’s founder Arda Kutsal, Borsa İstanbul Executive Vice President Çetin Ali Dönmez, Borsa İstanbul Executive Vice President Adnan Metin, Borsa İstanbul Listing and Private Market Group Manager Sertac Karaağaoğlu, Private Market Director Recep Bildik, Turkcell Superonline CEO Murat Erkan and Webrazzi Founder Arda Kutsal rang the opening bell for Webrazzi Summit.
In his opening speech at the opening bell ceremony, Borsa İstanbul Private Market Director Recep Bildik said:
“As Borsa İstanbul, we are pleased to support Webrazzi Summit, which is closely followed by entrepreneurs and digital economy stakeholders. The world is undergoing a significant change, accelerated by technology and globalization in the last thirty years. Such change brings about competition. Most of the companies on the list of Fortune500 of three decades ago are no longer on the list. The economy is undergoing a growing digital transformation, and Webrazzi is a part and support of this. Here, we see that especially transformation and innovation come from small companies. However, these companies lack capital. We established the Private Market particularly to support early stage companies that want to contribute to innovative and digital transformation, and in order to raise funds for SMEs and facilitate their entrepreneurial efforts. The Private Market also offers the opportunity to create liquidity for those investors that seek profitable investment opportunities and that want to exit their current investments to make new investments. This is the first time in the world that an exchange opens its doors to early stage companies and start-ups that are not publicly traded. Through the Private Market, companies can make use of additional services such as cooperation and mentorship. We do hope that this Conference will be beneficial for the participants and we are ready to welcome the stakeholders of the digital ecosystem at Borsa İstanbul Private Market”.
