The shares of VIA Real Estate Investment Company started being traded on Borsa İstanbul following the opening bell ceremony. The company created a whole new concept in shopping, entertainment, accommodation and marina services with its Viaport Asia, Viaport Marina, Viaport Venezia, and Vialand projects.
VIA REIC's shares started to be traded on Borsa İstanbul with the ticker code “VIAGO” following the opening bell ceremony with its orders collected on 5th-6th May through a consortium led by Finans Yatırım Menkul Değerler A.Ş (Finansinvest).
Opening bell ceremony was held at Borsa İstanbul Foyer with the participation of the Chief Operating Officer Aydın Seyman, VIA REIC Chairman Coşkun Bayraktar and Finans Yatırım Menkul Değerler A.Ş CEO and Board Member Özgür Güneri as well as many guests.
Borsa İstanbul Chief Operating Officer Aydın Seyman stated that in 2015 TL 119 million revenue had been raised from 6 IPOs and continued: “VIA REIC is the second IPO this year and the biggest among 8 IPOs since the beginning of 2015. I believe the most significant reason of this success is that VIA runs projects that touches the society I am sure that we all have had the honour of having been to a Via project.” Mr. Seyman also said that 32 REICs were being traded at Borsa İstanbul and due to the high demand Via REIC became the 5th largest REIC on our stock Exchange. IPOs increase as the companies share their experiences.
VIA REIC Chairman Coşkun Bayraktar: “We reached our targets”
Stating that as their shares started to be traded on Borsa İstanbul VIA REIC passed a major threshold on their journey that started with the motto ‘to achieve what has not been done yet’ Mr. Bayraktar said: “As we put people first in all of our projects, with our portfolio consisting of retail oriented integrated real estate projects we are content “to achieve what has not been done yet” Today, we have reached the targets we have set in 2008 when we started this journey. We managed to generate a contractual and sustainable high income flow. We reached a total asset of TL 3.3 billion and a portfolio size of TL 3.2 billion by the end of 2015. As our IPO is welcomed with grace and by the investors, we believe we contributed to our country’s capital markets and the investors’ base to develop as well as introducing new investors to the capital market. Beside our happiness, we are also proud to provide an opportunity that will add value to the savings of our investors. The sound of the opening bell can also be considered as the sound of a success story.”
Özgür Güneri: “The demand for the shares is 2.3 fold of the issue”
Speaking at the ceremony the CEO and Board Member of Finans Yatırım Menkul Değerler A.Ş. Özgür Güneri said: “We are proud and pleased to have realized one of the biggest and the most important public offerings since 2015 following Halkbank’s secondary public offering in 2012. Through the public offering at a price of TL 13.6, we received a total demand of TL 710 million from 2458 investors. The demand for the shares is 2.3 fold of the compared to the shares offered by Finansinvest as the leader of the consortium and 23 members of the consortium. Following the opening bell ceremony Via REIC shares will be traded with “VIAGO” code at a price of TL 13.6 with a 25% free-float rate. Via REIC: A new approach in integrated retailing
Via REIC was operating within Bayraktar Kardeşler Group until the company became REIC in August 2015. The real estate portfolio of Via REIC consists of 4 separate projects built on a total of 1.1 million m2 and more than 290 thousand m2 of gross leasable area of 697 commercial units within these projects with a portfolio size of TL 3.2 billion and a total assets of TL 3.3 billion by the end of 2015.
The 4 projects in the portfolio of Via REIC are; Viaport Asia Turkey's largest open-air outlet shopping center operating since 2008, Vialand Turkey’s the first theme park that opened its door in 2013, Viaport Venezia consisting of residences, offices, and commercial units that brings Venice to İstanbul and Viaport Marina combining recreation, shopping and a marina.
The new investments of the projects in the portfolio of Via REIC continues as well. The extension stage of Viaport Asia will be completed at the end of this year while the aquarium in Viaport Marina will open its door in May and the hotel in 2017. A new hotel with 400 rooms will be opened within Vialand at the end of 2017.
