Rodrigo Tekstil Sanayi ve Ticaret A.Ş., the parent company of Rodrigo Jeans, and Turkey's leading textile producer that has been providing services for both national and global companies for 16 years has started trading on Borsa İstanbul Emerging Companies Market.
Rodrigo Tekstil A.Ş.’s shares started trading on Borsa İstanbul following the bell-ringing ceremony held at Borsa İstanbul on August 13, 2013.
On this occasion, Borsa İstanbul Executive Vice President Aydın Seyman and Rodrigo Tekstil A.Ş. Chairman Bekir Küçükdoğan rang the opening bell. Rodrigo Tekstil's shares started to be traded on the Emerging Companies Market under the ticker symbol 'RODRG' at a price of TL 2.35.
Seyman commented that the total number of the companies traded on Borsa İstanbul reached 416 following Rodrigo Tekstil's initial public offering.
Seyman said that, during 2013, 7 and 6 companies started trading on, respectively, the Equity Market and Emerging Companies Market, and added that 8 others for the Equity Market and 6 for Emerging Companies Market are also lined up to be listed.
Seyman said that the funds raised through these listings total TL 1.22 Billion, with 319.9 million of this amount raised from sales by company partners and TL 897.3 million from capital increase proceeds.
"Rodrigo Tekstil has been operating for 16 years and provides services to many big scaled companies. The company is a good example of the Public Offering Campaign which was initiated by Borsa İstanbul. I wish good luck to Rodrigo Tekstil and also invite other companies to make advantage of the capital markets", Seyman added.
Bekir Küçükdoğan: "We will utilise the funds to become a global brand"
In his statement, Küçükdoğan acknowledged the efforts of Borsa İstanbul for supporting Small and Medium Sized Enterprises, which are the driving force of the Turkish economy.
"We will use the funds that we have raised through the IPO to widen our product range and prepare new collections that will increase our brand value. We believe that we are going to meet the expectations of our dealers in a better way with the new collections. We want to make concrete steps to make our denim jeans brand Rodrigo, known for its quality, comfort and diversity, a global brand", Küçükdoğan said.
