Borsa İstanbul discounts operation fee in the Diamond and Precious Stone Market
Borsa İstanbul Board discounted the operation fee in the Diamond and Precious Stone Market from TL 20,000 to TL 2,000, applicable until end-2014
The Law no. 6552, exempting precious stones imported to be traded on Borsa İstanbul Diamond and Precious Stone Market from value Added Tax as well as Special Consumption Tax went into force on September 11, 2014.Following this tax arrangement, the first precious stone trade exempt from Special Consumption Tax on Borsa İstanbul Diamond and Precious Stone Market was realized on Tuesday, 30, 2014.
Operation fees discounted until the end of the year to support the Turkish jewelry sector
Having registered a significant success in gold jewelry exports in a short time, Turkish jewelry sector has a significant share in Turkey’s total exports. In order to help the sector reach its target of becoming a leading center of diamond manufacturing and trade, Borsa İstanbul discounted the operation fee in the Diamond and Precious Stone Market from TL 20,000 to TL 2,000 for the membership applications that will be filed by the end of the working hours on December 31, 2014. The operation fee will continue to be applied as TL 20,000 starting from the beginning of 2015.
Borsa İstanbul Board’s above resolution has been approved by the Capital Markets Board.

Within this framework, by Borsa İstanbul’s Circular no. 461 dated September 29, 2014, the information and documents required for membership application were simplified in order to ensure a faster and more efficient evaluation of the membership application process.
