Spor Toto Super League’s new season, with the theme “Hasan Doğan Tolerance, Friendship and Respect” kick-started by a bell-ringing ceremony held at Borsa İstanbul. Borsa İstanbul’s bell rang for football for the first time while participants wished “fair-play” for the new season.
A bell-ringing ceremony was held at Borsa İstanbul for “Hasan Doğan Tolerance, Friendship and Respect” season, which will start on August 14 this year. The bell-ringing ceremony for the season opening is expected to become traditional, and was participated by Turkish Football Federation President Yıldırım Demirören, Clubs’ Association President Göksel Gümüşdağ and Borsa İstanbul CEO Tuncay Dinç. Borsa İstanbul’s bell rang for football for the first time while participants wished “fair-play” for the new season.
In his speech at the ceremony, Turkish Football Federation President Yıldırım Demirören said, “With the bell we have just rung, we kick-started not the trading session only, but also the 2015-2016 football season. Our football clubs are among the best known Turkish trademarks worldwide. Four football clubs are listed on Borsa İstanbul. We aim to make all clubs in the Super League reach such size and volume, and have them listed on Borsa İstanbul”.
LET US LIFT TROPHIES AT BORSA ISTANBUL
Borsa İstanbul CEO Tuncay Dinç said that they are pleased to kick-start the football league at Borsa İstanbul, adding that they want to make it a tradition. Dinç went on to say, “Football has become an industry far beyond the field. Big Turkish clubs have taken the lead in being listed on Borsa İstanbul. We do hope that this vision of our clubs will be followed by the other teams and all companies in Turkey, thereby allowing an increased number of public offerings, contributing to institutionalization and sustainability”.
Dinç stated that parallel with Istanbul’s target to become a global financial center, Borsa İstanbul marches toward becoming a global exchange, adding, “We do hope that Turkish teams will win trophies in Europe, especially. In such case, we will do our job and welcome them at Borsa İstanbul with their trophies for a bell-ringing ceremony. And for the next season, we hope it will be one filled with goals, where competition will not overshadow friendship and brotherhood”.
